As the nation’s third oldest and San Diego’s only LGBTQ+ theatre, Diversionary has been enriching our community for over 35 years. On April 2nd, Diversionary will light up the U.S. Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego with its annual Gala: The Disco Ball. This night of disco delight is Diversionary’s annual fundraiser for our education and theatre programs. The event will be attended by 300 prominent tastemakers and influencers in and around the San Diego community and will honor former state Senator Christine Kehoe (San Diego’s first openly gay elected official) and local philanthropist Joann Clark with Fritz Klein Awards. The event will also have significant coverage as our Host for the evening is San Diego drag icon and activist, Amber St. James.
