On Friday, September 30, 2022, the Friends of Briar Bush will return to the Abington Art Center to host our 32nd Feather Our Nest Gala (FON), The Enchanted Forest. Guests will spend a delightful evening with friends as they dine, drink, and enjoy unique entertainment all while directly supporting Briar Bush programs. The event is kicked off two weeks before the gala with our very popular online auction!

The Friends of Briar Bush thrives with the support of individuals and businesses in our area. These relationships have enabled us to consistently provide programs and events that enrich the entire community. We are very excited to share with you some of our victories from this past year.

 ·  FOBB’s Scholarship Fund has gained momentum allowing us to invite multiple families in need of financial assistance to the 2021 camp season and offer scholarships to groups this coming fall

·  BBNC’s Homeschool Sessions are now being offered each week throughout the school year and continue to provide curriculum-based material for children in grades K-6 alongside their peers

·  BBNC’s new partnership with Abington’s A.C.T.I.V.E. Academy, a transitional program for young adults with special needs, provides work experience and serves as a model for other opportunities

·  BBNC’s Preschool Programs have reentered all of Montgomery County’s Head Start and Pre-K Counts classrooms with environmental lessons designed for special needs and at-risk children

·  Great Escapes and A Walk in the Woods are modified in-person programs that offer enriching opportunities tailored for our adult community at Briar Bush as well as off-site destinations

·  Donating Items or Services: Donations are entered into our annual auction. Past donations have included artwork, food and entertainment gift certificates, and other cultural experiences.

All funds raised during the FON event directly support the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Friends of Briar Bush (Federal Tax I.D. 23-7275154), and our mission to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and protect nature by encouraging curiosity and scientific inquiry.
