Description

As a non-profit organization serving the Bay Area since 1976, Kara will host its annual spring fundraising event on Saturday, April 25 from 4-7pm at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Palo Alto. Entitled "The Enduring Power of Memories", the event will feature Allison Gilbert, an Emmy award-winning journalist and author of several books on grief and resilience. Allison's stirring work exposes the secret and essential factor for harnessing loss to drive happiness and rebound from adversity. She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance for Grieving Children and the Advisory Board for the Tragedy Assistance program for Survivors, the preeminent national organization providing grief support to families of America's fallen heroes.

The afternoon will begin with a reception with live music, raffles and games, and a memory tribute to loved ones lost. A light dinner will follow with Allison Gilbert as keynote speaker, followed by a Live Auction and Impact Giving opportunities.
