On behalf of The Free Theatre, a 501(c)3 non-profit arts education organization located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, we are asking for your support of our First Annual Online Auction which runs from January 19-28, 2024.  

The Free Theatre is a tuition-free arts education and theatrical performance program that provides an inclusive, supportive environment in which passionate students in grades 9-12 throughout the DC area have the opportunity to be at the helm of the collaborative and creative process of producing live theatre, regardless of financial means.  Each year, The Free Theatre produces two musicals on the mainstage at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, MD. Students are at the helm of the creative process as performers, crew, and  production staff (direction, music, costumes, PR, choreography, tech, set design, stage management, props, etc.) to create an entirely student-led theatrical production.  All of the funding for our theatrical programs comes from the generosity of individual donors, business donors, and grants.

This Auction is a very important fundraiser as all funds raised will go towards keeping our theatrical programs 100% tuition-free for all students. This season we have an additional stretch goal to reduce or eliminate ticket costs, hire ASL interpreters, and add other accommodations as needed in an effort to make our shows more accessible to members of the community and help foster a future generation of new theatergoers.
