Description

The Nia Project, affiliated with Emory University, is a program that provides completely free mental health services, including individual therapy, groups, crisis and risk management, and some case management services such as offering financial support and advocacy efforts, that are offered to all individuals who have survived interpersonal violence, a suicide attempt, and/or childhood trauma. Most of our patients are low-income, poorly resourced, and women of color. They all often have many psychological diagnoses as a result of surviving multiple traumas and societal inequities/discrimination.

We put on a fundraiser every year so that we can continue to run Nia and offer free services, specifically financial and other resources to the members of the Nia Project. Last year we were able to raise around $20,000 due to the contributions of our donors providing gift cards, items, and tickets for our auction. We would like to match that at a minimum this year and possibly double it to provide even more opportunities for our Nia members! We couldn’t do this without the generous donations from our donors for the fundraiser.
