Community LINC is gearing up for our annual fundraiser The Rent Party: Raise Up for KC.

Over the past year, the cost of living in Kansas City skyrocketed. The average rent amount outpaced wage increases. The price of eggs (eggs!!) was a telltale sign of the inflation woes everyone is facing. It gets harder to make ends meet when the costs of basic items become out of reach. Situations for low-income families have become dire, indeed.

We’ve assisted hundreds of individuals and families—many of whom with young children—who’d never needed assistance before. Not surprisingly, those who were already vulnerable needed (and still need) help more than ever. In fact, recent data shows that there are over 2,000 people currently homeless in this city we call home. As you're reading this, that number is growing. That’s why, now more than ever, it is important to take a stand.

So many great things are on the horizon for Kansas City. New investments in previously neglected areas are great. Our city is gaining more and more attention. Wouldn’t it be nice to say that KC eradicated homelessness?  Your support will help ensure we do just that—in 2023 and beyond.
