St. Francis of Assisi was a man of deep faith, conviction, love, and humility. This is how he lived his life.
He was a man that existed among people, never above them. For St. Francis, he believed that “True
progress quietly and persistently moves along without notice.” His life’s journey was built upon his belief
in God, community, inclusivity, love, and ministry to others, without ever drawing attention to himself.
Since 1895, St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School has continued this tradition… a tradition in which
our work and service is done for the greater good, quietly, intentionally, compassionately, and humbly.
On this journey, our school holds its annual Auction & Gala. Every auction is a celebration of history,
community, and the spirit of St. Francis. This year, our special evening, The Roaring Twenties, will be
held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Haggin Oaks Pavilion, the day before our school’s 127th
anniversary. Whether you are a patron, volunteer, staff or a friend, your presence, generosity and support
help make this evening memorable, exciting and most importantly, one filled with love for St. Francis.
While most definitely being a celebration, the annual auction and gala is more than just that. It is the one
major evening of the year when we humbly come together to help financially support St. Francis of Assisi
Elementary School and offset the full cost to educate a single child (over $8400) that tuition ($6700)
cannot cover alone. In 2021, we were put in a position once again to hold our auction virtually. Although
we were hopeful to all be together, the pandemic dictated otherwise. But with the help of our many
sponsors, donors, and active participants, we exceeded any expectations and raised over $60,000.00. This
accomplishment helped to maintain our programs, fund our various projects, and pay for our yearly
“Fund-a-Need” item. Your generosity and partnership are key to the viability and longevity of our school.
This is our time to walk together for the benefit of our school, families, and students, both present and
future. It is my sincerest hope that all members of our community be a part of our Auction & Gala in
whatever way possible.
For 127 years, St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School has meant so much to so many. Let us continue to
live the spirit of our patron saint and quietly and persistently move St. Francis forward. Together, we will
ensure that our Franciscan education continues to be true progress for our children and families for
generations to come.
