ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP Building Colorado's Future One Engineer At A Time
Colorado's communities depend on reliable bridges, safe drinking water, and resilient infrastructure—all designed by civil engineers whose education you can help support today. Every road, water system, public building, and structural framework that keeps our communities functioning begins with an engineer's education, yet we face a critical shortage of civil engineering students at the very moment our state needs them most. Your donation to the Standing Pines Foundation Scholarship doesn't just fund education; it strengthens Colorado's foundation for generations to come.
A Proven Foundation: Ed Fronapfel's Legacy of Educational Support
The Standing Pines Foundation Civil Engineering Scholarship amplifies founder Ed Fronapfel's long-standing commitment to educational advancement. As an adjunct professor at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business since 2007, Ed has dedicated over 15 years to teaching construction systems and mentoring the next generation of industry professionals.
His passion for education extends beyond the classroom—Ed has generously forgone his teaching salary at DU, redirecting those funds into the Fronapfel Foundation to provide scholarships for real estate and construction management program's students. This new scholarship program builds upon this proven model of giving back to support talented civil engineering students throughout Colorado.
