Star Community is a nonprofit located in Hagerstown, MD that supports people with disabilities to live a full and meaningful life. One of the programs that we have at Star is the Equestrian Center.

Star Community Therapeutic Equestrian Center is a full spectrum equine learning facility that focuses on the importance of individualized programming. We strive to enhance quality of life by attending to the mind, body and spirit of each rider to foster growth, strength and confidence both in riding and in every other aspect of their life.

We are doing our 3rd annual raffle to help raise funds for Star Community’s Therapeutic Equestrian Center to help with purchasing a Run in Shed for one of our new fields.

 Horses at Star live outside in pastures to ensure mental and physical health needs are met. With living outside, horses need constant access to a dry, safe, and comfortable shelter to protect them from rain, wind, and snow. In warm and sunny weather, the shelter helps to provide horses with much-needed shade and relief from biting insects. With a run-in shed for our new field, we will be able to add the necessary shelter from the elements and give the horses the option to be outside or in the shelter whenever it wants.
