Description

GBS-CIDP Foundation Walk & Roll – Twin Cities

This local sponsorship opportunity is for the benefit of the GBS-CIDP Foundation International, a qualified 501(c)(3) organization (tax ID:22-2474769). The Foundation is the preeminent global non-profit organization supporting individuals and their families affected by Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and related syndromes such as multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN) through a commitment to support, education, research, and advocacy.

Since its inception in 2018, the Twin Cities Walk & Roll event has been a phenomenal success. Last year, the event raised over $32,000, setting a GBS/CIDP Foundation fundraising record. Over the first two years, the Twin Cities Walk and Roll events have raised almost $60,000 and funded an entire research grant and then some.

For 2020, the event is expanding, but the format remains largely unchanged. The 1-mile leisurely walk and roll will take place May 30th (9 a.m.) at Battle Creek Regional Park in Maplewood, Minnesota. The proceeds from the Walk & Roll support scientific innovation, a quicker diagnosis, and better treatments for those stricken by this devastating illness. We are walking for RESEARCH, and each walk is one mile closer to overcoming the challenges of living with GBS, CIDP and MMN.

Based on the early response, we are expecting more than 250 participants for the event. Upon conclusion of the Walk & Roll, we will host a raffle and silent auction. Last year, we raised roughly $8,000 from this portion of the event.
