Topeka Charter School for Advanced Studies is a public-school serving Northridge and the surrounding community. Topeka Charter is one of the few schools in the area offering a School for Advanced Studies (SAS) and one of the few in the District offering a Visually Impaired (VI) program. We were also recognized as a California Distinguished School, an award given to schools which demonstrate significant gains in narrowing the achievement gap. 

In spite of all this, our financial resources are limited. We rely on the fundraising efforts done by parents and the generous donations of outside supporters to subsidize some of the educational and enrichment programs we have at the school, as well as to boost our student’s morale. 

Topeka Drive PTA will be holding its annual “Tiger Trot”, a student-led FUNdraiser on Friday, March 8, 2024. This fundraiser is to involve students, staff and the community, to encourage student’s physical fitness and exercise, while raising money for our school’s YMCA Play/Psychomotor program. The fundraiser will benefit all students, as the money is directly funded into the school’s YMCA Play/Psychomotor program, which is taught by our wonderful local North Valley YMCA. Research has shown that physical activity improves the health, brain power and overall mental well-being of children. Thus, we want to ensure that all students at Topeka, will continue to have the opportunity to receive these essential health benefits.
