The 3nd Annual Tim Speltz Light the Lamp Foundation Golf Classic is Saturday, July 27, 2024, at
Cedar Valley Golf Course in Winona, MN. The Tim Speltz Light the Lamp Foundation is a 501c3
nonprofit set-up in honor and memory of Tim Speltz to raise awareness and funds for mental health
and suicide prevention and support local youth. Your financial or in-kind donation will support three
important causes.
In 2021, the United States lost one person to suicide every 11 minutes (CDC.gov). This year a
portion of the proceeds will once again support The Duck Cup Memorial a local Minnesota nonprofit
that works within middle and high schools provide resources for mental health awareness and suicide
prevention. You can help a young person learn about suicide prevention through your donation.
Proceeds from the Tim Speltz Light the Lamp Foundation Golf Classic also support Tim’s passion
for youth athletics. Tim was an integral part of youth sports programs in both his hometown of
Winona, where he was a player and coach, and in the Prior Lake area where he coached and developed
that passion in his own children and many of the community’s youth.

This year’s Classic will also donate a portion of the proceeds to young people with cancer
through Project Sol Flower. This program helps young adults with cancer fulfill bucket list items and
gives hope in what could be hopeless times. 86,000 young adults ages 15-39 will be diagnosed with
cancer this year alone (cancer.gov). The Tim Speltz Light the Lamp Foundation Golf Classic needs yourhelp to make that struggle just a little bit easier.
