Description

Texas Network of Youth Services (TNOYS) is excited to host Day of Action for Youth on March 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Austin, TX.

TNOYS Day of Action for Youth will bring together youth and youth serving providers to advocate for the TNOYS policy agenda to improve supports and services for Texas YYA. The TNOYS policy agenda was developed with input from YYA and youth serving providers and looks to improve supports for YYA by promoting cross-systems collaboration, strengthening youth services and seeking well funded youth-serving systems.

Bringing youth and providers together to advocate for the same policy priorities/changes makes a powerful statement.  Having both those impacted by the systems and those implementing the policies makes clear that the policy changes we are asking for are necessary and have a broad base of support.

At the event, providers and young people will learn about key legislative strategies and processes, and TNOYS’ policy agenda. You’ll then have the chance to visit with legislators and their staff to directly educate them and advocate for stronger supports and increased funding for youth services.

There is power in numbers in advocacy, and we've encouraged our network to bring as many staff and young people as possible. Providers who cannot bring young people, for whatever reason, are still strongly encouraged to attend to represent their organization and the provider perspective.

We are accepting in kind donations of swag (sunglasses, bags, paper, pens, etc.) and snacks/drinks as well as financial donations.
