Description

The Tonalea Association of Parents and Teachers is asking for modest in-kind donations for our Silent Auction at our Tonalea Middle School National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony to be held on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025.  Of course, we would prominently include all donors in our ceremony’s program, thank you banner, newsletter/social media, wall projections, silent auction signage, and verbaly thank them in our announcements before the silent auction.

At the preceding Induction Ceremony our students will welcome new members, highlight the past year’s volunteer community service, including their work with a local food bank, and speak to our core tenets of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and leadership.  Musical entertaminment is provided by Tonalea Band, Orchestra, and Choir.  Funds raised at the silent auction will go towards purchasing the custom t-shirts students will wear when completing their 10+ hours of community service.  Any additional funds raised would support NJHS and be used to purchase 8th grade promotion honor stoles, transportation for community service field trips, and to pay the annual membership fee to the national organization.

About Tonalea: A proud public school in the Scottsdale Unified School District, Tonalea Middle School (formerly Tonalea K-8 and Supai Middle School) is a B-graded Title One 6th-8th grade school of some 400 students, with 77% of families qualifying for free or reduced lunch.  Our diverse students come from the communities of south Scottsdale, north Tempe, east Phoenix, and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.  Through the National Junior Honor Society’s core tenets of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship our student members volunteer for service projects in the community.  We re-established our chapter of the National Junior Honor Society in January 2024 after a hiatus.  Thank you again for considering our request to help us raise funds for our hardworking students.
