Description

Tossed & Found is our annual, fundraising rummage sale that has welcomed nearly 80,000 shoppers over the years, providing bargain prices on high-quality, gently used merchandise to DC-area individuals. Our sale specifically benefits families and community groups in need via a community cash card program where partners in need come shop the sale for free to get essential, donated goods. The Tossed & Found sale also includes raffles, a silent auction, and ticketed events that contribute toward the overall fundraising total. This year is our 30th annual sale and we are looking to make it our best fundraising year yet.

By partnering with JLW, you are advancing our mission to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve communities through the effective action of trained volunteers. Last year alone, JLW raised over $480,000, enabling us to offer critical training to our members—who, in turn, were able to collectively log more than $2 million worth of volunteer hours in support of our mission and our partnerships across the community, which include Bright Beginnings, 826DC’s Reading All Stars, Washington School for Girls, Horton's Kids, and the Literacy Lab, among others. We were also able to provide $135,000 in grants to community organizations and nearly 6,000 books to support our ongoing literacy focus.
