Total-Western 2nd Annual Charity Golf Classic, benefiting the American Cancer Society is on Monday, June 26 at The Huntington Club in Huntington Beach, California.

When you become a supporter, your commitment helps the American Cancer Society combat cancer ensuring everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat and survive cancer. With your help, we launch breakthrough research, create empowering resources for people in the fight against cancer, enable local communities to support those affected, and convene powerful activists to create awareness and impact.

Since 1991, the American Cancer Society has invested $3.1 billion in cancer research contributing to 3.5 million fewer cancer deaths. Each year our work impacts over 55 million lives. Here are some ways the American Cancer Society put donations to work in California, in 2022 alone:

Provided more than 63,729 rides to treatment and other cancer-related appointments through our Road to Recovery program and ACS funded transportation grants
Provided 8087 free or discounted hotel stays for patients and their families facing cancer
Helped 4,189 patients, caregivers and family members through our 24/7 helpline, providing support, information and resources when it was needed most
Funding more than $42 million in research grants through 20 institutions in California
 

However, there is still much work to be done. In California, an estimated 192,770 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in 2023 and an estimated 59,830 people in California will die of cancer.
