Every year, College Park Nursery School celebrates Earth Day by hosting its Trash-A-Thon fundraising event, inviting families and community members to clean up litter in our neighborhood. Throughout the month of April, our students will prepare for the Trash-A-Thon by learning about the Earth and the significance of maintaining a clean, litter-free environment. As the Trash-A-Thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year, we, as a school community, will also rally around this cause to raise funds for our school throughout the month. The Trash-A-Thon event will be held on April 20th, 2024. On that day, our students, families, and staff, along with neighborhood volunteers, will venture into various parts of College Park to pick up trash. This effort aims to beautify the neighborhood in honor of Earth Day and serve the community housing our school. Following the clean-up, all participants are invited back to the school for a post-clean-up party with food, activities and prizes for everyone to enjoy. This part of the day provides an opportunity for our families, friends, and neighborhood volunteers to strengthen community bonds, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate a job well-done!
