Funds from this event will allow our PTA to provide upgrades to our school blacktop, which serves as both a recess space as well as an outdoor gym class space (as we have no indoor gym). Particularly during the COVID era that we live in, our school is trying to host as many events as possible outside so the space is now being upgraded to include outdoor classroom space, as well. We seek to upgrade the aging chainlink fence to provide safer and more inviting borders to our blacktop, while also upgrading the current space with a painted track and turf play area, as our children currently play soccer, kickball, and other games on an asphalt surface, which is not only dangerous but also gets incredibly hot in the warmer months.

Additionally, funds raised will allow us to improve upon the school Book Nook, which the PTA created and funded to replace the school library, which was lost due to a need for additional instruction space. Students are brought to the Book Nook every other week to look through the shelves to select a book to "take out". We seek to continue adding to our book selection, but also want to upgrade our current system of inventorying books to include software, a dedicated laptop, and a barcode scanning system.
