UCLA Relay for Life
Other Event Type for American Cancer Society/ UCLA American Cancer SocietyApr 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 11:30 PM
When people hear about Relay for Life, a lot of them imagine a 12-hour run or walk, but that’s not what it is. Our simple motto is “Cancer doesn’t sleep, so neither do we.” It is up to you to decide how best to celebrate or remember those affected by cancer in your lives. This includes ceremonies to honor survivors and caregivers, a solemn “Luminaria” ceremony for the cancer victims in our lives, performances by local talent, food, games, and so much more over the course of 12 hours.
In addition to planning Relay for Life, ACS on Campus at UCLA hosts educational rallies and fundraisers as well as visiting local cancer patients over the course of the academic year. We have raised over a million dollars in the last five years alone. These funds go toward cancer research and ACS patient services.
Businesses are the ones that make this 12 hour event that honors those affected by cancer possible. In order to keep our event going and our participants energized, we depend on food donations. Delicious food from high-quality vendors are what we strive to have at our event. Monetary donations are also welcome, as our fundraising goal this year is $200,000.
You can read more about our organization and opportunities in the attached pamphlet. If you have ideas of your own outside of the pamphlet, please feel free to reach out and let us know! We are flexible and willing to accommodate you so we achieve both our goals.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope you’ll join our mission to celebrate a world with more birthdays!
