Description

On March 24th, the Kappa Omicron Chapter of Sigma Kappa will be holding our Ultra-Violet week, a philanthropic event benefiting the Sigma Kappa Foundation. We would like to extend to you the opportunity to be a part of the Ultra-Violet Sigma Kappa Survivor: Dove Island event this year. With your participation, you will be supporting a very important cause. We greatly appreciate any support you can offer.

This year’s Ultra-Violet Sigma Kappa Survivor: Dove Island event will be held at Florida International University on the Graham Center Lawns, a student hub on campus. This outdoor setting for Sigma Kappa Survivor: Dove Island will promote a casual field day idea where participants can play social distanced games and have fun playing a relay race style with games such as Yard Pong, Puzzles, Walk the Plank, and a blind fold challenge!  We would like to sell small plants and pots to promote our Inherit the Earth initiative. Additionally, we will be collecting donation supplies to create “goodie bags” and letters for the elders to drop off at a senior home. Finally, we would like to provide sanitizing items, appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages for participants to enjoy as a thank you for their support in raising awareness and funds for our philanthropy. It is for this reason why we reach out to you in hopes of receiving your support.

Net proceeds from the Ultra-Violet Sigma Kappa Survivor: Dove Island event will benefit the Sigma Kappa Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Through contributions from our chapter, individual members and friends like you, the Sigma Kappa foundation is able to:

Award up to $50,000 to a researcher in the fight against Alzheimer’s – a devastating disease that is now our nation’s sixth leading cause of death.
Provide funding for educational programs and resources designed to promote personal and leadership development among Sigma Kappa members.
Provide more than 50 scholarships to outstanding members who exemplify Sigma Kappa’s values.
Provide financial assistance to members facing financial crises.

Thousands of people benefit from these programs, and we would greatly appreciate your support of the Sigma Kappa Foundation. As a charitable organization, the Foundation has been classified as a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service. Therefore, your gift is tax-deductible as allowed by the law. Please write checks out to “Sigma Kappa Foundation”.

With your cash or merchandise donation to the Ultra-Violet Sigma Kappa Survivor: Dove Island, we are sure these programs will continue to grow. In return, we are offering recognition at the Ultra-Violet Sigma Kappa Survivor: Dove Island in our program.
