The Downingtown Blue & Gold Marching Band and the Music Parents Association will be hosting our USBands Pennsylvania State Championship Competition on Saturday, October 19, 2024, and will be held at Kottmeyer Stadium. We expect more than 1,500 people to attend this event, as marching bands from throughout central Pennsylvania and greater Philadelphia will perform at this important competition via US Bands.

This year we are incorporating raffle baskets to increase our fundraising efforts for all our music students. We are kindly asking for your support with either a cash donation, prize, or gift card we can use in our baskets. Your company can make an impact for our students and your business while reaching out to a captive audience. We hope we can count on your support.

If you’ve ever experienced a Downingtown Memorial Day Parade or attended a home football game, you know that our community values and embraces our district’s music programs. There is nothing more impressive than watching more than 300 students march proudly through the borough in their distinctive blue and white uniforms or sitting in the stands as the East and West bands perform their respective award-winning field shows. The high school experience for our students and our entire community would not be the same without the soundtrack of the band.

With support from the business community, we have been able to provide financial assistance to the music programs in all three of our district’s high schools, East, West, and STEM. Your generosity allows us to provide funding for the hiring of top-notch instructors for marching band, indoor color guard, and indoor percussion as well as to maintain and fuel the trucks, provide equipment, and offer scholarships.
