Hokuloa Outrigger Canoe Club will once again host its annual Ventura Outrigger Challenge race on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Harbor Cove Beach in Ventura. This event draws hundreds of men and women paddlers and their families from all over Southern California to spend the day racing 6-person outrigger canoes and enjoying all that Ventura Harbor has to offer. 

This year we are celebrating our club’s 34th anniversary.  Over the years, our membership has grown from a small club in 1989 to a membership today of over 80 adult and youth paddlers.  We honor the rich Polynesian culture and traditions that are a part of outrigger. Our club also supports the local community, offering one of the few competitive water sports in the area.

We are asking businesses for donations for the fundraising raffle and silent auction that will be held on the day of our race.  Proceeds from this event will go to the yearly operating expenses of our club. Thank you!
