Description

Certified Sommelier, Claire L. Torbeck will be hosting an educational wine tasting that includes Campo Viejo Cava Brut Reserva, Domaine Grand Veneur Champauvins Cotes du Rhone 2017, and Cvne Crianza Rioja 2016 vintage as "Alex's Selection" to celebrate what would have been Dr. Alex Porter's 40th birthday. You may order the wines bundled through House Wine Worthington for curbside pick-up or in-store pick-up from October 7, 2020 through November 11, 2020 (644 High Street, Worthington, Oh 43085, phone #: 614-848-9463) if local to Columbus. They will accept payment for the wine directly. House Wine Worthington will also give you the option of donating 10% of their discount, if purchasing six wine bottles at the time, to the charity. If not local to Columbus, you may purchase the wine through Wine.com or your local wine store for the event. There will be short programming to update everyone on the inaugural family playroom, as well as a silent auction over the weekend. After registering for the event, you will be given a unique code to the virtual event on November 13, 2020 with the email you register.

What is Alex's Sunnyside Playroom? We are a 501(3)(c) in memory of Dr. Alex Porter with his battle against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We provide resources to families battling cancer within adult hospitals in the form of a physical space that emulates home with comfortable furniture, puzzles, games, art supplies, crafts, port pillows, iPad's with cleanable cases, and quality books. Our mission is to provide a place for families to make memories during critical illnesses.
