Description

Join Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault as we host our 6th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event!

      Northwest CASA is hosting our 6th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® this fall. This walk is playful activism as men adorn 4 inch red stiletto heels and strut for one mile to raise awareness in our community and support the millions of women who are subjected to horrific acts of sexual violence every year. It’s not easy walking, but it’s fun and gets the community to talk about something that’s difficult to talk about. (Women can walk too...but no heels necessary!)

Why?:   Because sexual violence is an epidemic in the United States, as shown by the many shocking statistics on sexual assault. In the last year Northwest CASA has: ·

- Counseled 250 sexual violence survivors and their families;

- Responded to over 630 callers on our 24 hour hotline including 296 in-person hospital emergency room visits; &

- Educated over 26,500 grade school, junior high, high school, & college students.

And all of this was done FREE OF CHARGE.

Additional Info: The walk is only 1 mile. You can do it & heels are provided to men for use during the walk! • Can’t walk? That’s ok! Donations are needed and appreciated.
