The event is family-friendly, and since it's hosted at Zoo Knoxville, participants enjoy a unique venue that adds fun and connection for walkers of all ages.
The Promise Garden Ceremony
One of the most emotional and symbolic moments of the day is the Promise Garden ceremony. Participants each carry a flower that represents their personal connection to the disease:
Blue for those living with Alzheimer’s.
Purple for those who have lost someone to the disease.
Yellow for those caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.
Orange for those supporting the cause and a vision of a world without Alzheimer’s.
This visual display creates a field of vibrant colors that serves as a powerful reminder of both loss and hope.
Why Donors Will Want to Support This Event
Funds raised go directly to the Alzheimer’s Association, a leading nonprofit recognized for funding cutting-edge research, advocating for public policy, and providing 24/7 support services to patients and caregivers.
Many donors and participants have a loved one affected by Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Supporting this event becomes deeply personal and meaningful.
The Alzheimer’s Association consistently reports how funds are used, including how much is invested in research, care, and community education.
This event brings together hundreds of individuals, businesses, and teams with a shared mission. Donors see their contributions as part of a collective, tangible effort.
While the event is part of a national campaign, funds raised in Knoxville help support local Tennessee-based programs, giving donors a direct line of sight into how they’re helping neighbors in their own community.
