I am a counselor at Geneva High School in Geneva, Illinois we are planning a Week of Giving program in order to promote community service involvement to our staff and students. Participating in community service also helps foster positive mental health by contributing to a good cause greater than oneself. 

During the Week of Giving April 21 -25 we are going to be raffling off different items if students bring in donations to local organizations. For example, if they bring in 15 books for the Book Drive, they will receive one raffle ticket, or if they donate blood at the Blood Drive, they will receive one raffle ticket. We are hoping that the different raffle prizes increase participation and excitement for the Week of Giving to receive the most donations possible and increase community involvement. 

We want to promote community involvement and service as a way of improving mental health for our students and staff.
