Did you know more than 140,000 children are waiting right now to be adopted from foster care in the United States? These children were placed in foster care through no fault of their own, having suffered abuse, neglect, and often countless layers of trauma in their young lives.

Today, I am writing to ask you to consider how you can play a critical part in helping to find forever homes for children and youth lingering in foster care.

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a national, non-profit public charity established in 1992 by Wendy’s® founder Dave Thomas, who was adopted. Through its signature programs, like Wendy’s Wonderful Kids®, the Foundation is dedicated to finding permanent homes for the most vulnerable youth in foster care, including teenagers, children with special needs and siblings who have been waiting in foster care the longest.
