Whiskers and Wags, The Ark of San Juan Companion Animal Rescue's ("The Ark's") Annual Fundraiser will be held November 5, 2023 at the beautiful, high end Marbella Country Club in San Juan Capistrano.  The Ark is a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit with all unpaid volunteers that are extreme animal lovers.  At the fundraiser, we expect 200 plus attendees from Orange, Los Angeles, San Diego counties and beyond, as we have thousands of followers in Southern CA.  The event will include an auctioneer with a live auction, a silent auction, artists from the Laguna Beach Art Show, wonderful food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as a live jazz band. We have already received many items from generous donors including, exotic trips to various island locations, coastal staycations at historic hotels, a Costa Rica getaway on the beach, and many exciting products as well as gift cards from local businesses.  For all businesses that donate, The Ark will provide marketing to them at the fundraiser, and for larger donations we will provide additional marketing leading up to the event, including to our thousands of social media followers.  

The Ark has saved thousands of animals since its inception in 2008.  It has around 170 animals in its foster program weekly and all animals are rescued and fostered in people's homes.  We hold adoption events four times a week to get these animals new loving families.  We have been commended for our educational program called "Dog Sense" in the local elementary schools and have been given an award for our community service on Yelp.  We rescue and save animals at "kill" shelters and from the community, helping animals on death row, or whose pet parent has died, or been abandoned, injured or abused.  The Ark responds to animals in distress after getting contacted from Good Samaritans.  Our goal is to help as many animals as possible get a second chance at life, instead of death with a loving family, and to turn sad stories into ones with happy endings.
