Description

Dear White Oak School Friends,

We are thrilled to tell you about our upcoming Anniversary Celebration Gala, as the year 2020 marks a notable 30 years serving special education students with learning disabilities.  It is sure to be a commemoration you won’t want to miss! On May 16, 2020, White Oak is bringing Brass Attack to the Mass Mutual Center Ballroom in Springfield, MA to help make the night a party to remember.  This incredibly upbeat, energetic band will help our guests get up on their feet to celebrate the tireless hard work and dedication of our wonderful founder, board of directors, staff, teachers, students, families and generous donors.

The night will begin at 6:00pm and include dinner, auction/raffles, entertainment and presentations from current and former students.  It will be a terrific chance to relax and enjoy the good company of family, friends, fellow alumni and colleagues while supporting the White Oak vision.

The proceeds raised at this Gala will help fund replacement of our gymnasium floor, currently concrete and tiling, to a more ergonomic, athlete-friendly and multi-purpose flooring.  In addition to serving host to several important school events throughout the year, this space is the primary backdrop for our physical education and athletic programs that provide students who otherwise struggle in school the opportunity to find a passion in physical activity and sports and to shine in their own way.

Attached please find more information about White Oak, this exciting event and its sponsorship opportunities.  Your support in any way makes a difference and is sincerely appreciated….be it attending the event, making a contribution, being an event sponsor, and/or donating an item to our auction/raffle.

We are proud and grateful to work with amazing students with so much potential, intelligence, and inspiration.  Your participation in this special night and continued commitment to White Oak School will help us continue providing the intense academic and literacy skill instruction our students need while nurturing social relationships, artistic ambitions and athletic goals… empowering them to believe in themselves and prepare for life post-high school.  We hope you can join us to celebrate!

Sincerely,

Jody Michalski, Academic Dean

“White Oak School means a lot to me. I have learned so much about myself in the years I have gone here. I have gained a lot of confidence in my work and for my future as a whole. One thing that stands out to me about White Oak is that every teacher cares not only about you getting your work done, but they put in the extra effort to make sure that you fully understand your work and can use the things you learned for your future. I would not be the person I am today without this school. I am happy to say that I have a second family here that I fully trust and love with all my heart.”  - Allison Casten, Class of 2020, White Oak student for 8 years
