Heartland Humane Shelter & Care is a non-profit animal shelter with the mission to create a more compassionate community by teaching humane messages, caring for homeless animals, and strengthening the human-animal bond. Our programs include animal adoptions, lost & found services, humane education programs, pet food bank, vaccination and spay/neuter clinics, and the Safe Housing Program, which provides confidential housing for animal companions of families in crisis.

Wine & Whiskers is our premier fundraising event. It is a gala silent and live auction with plated dinner and wine/beer/cider. The event has a theme every year and guests are encouraged to dress in theme-appropriate costumes and can compete to win prizes. This will be Wine & Whiskers' 19th year. This year the event is titled “Wine & Whiskers 2023 – Happily Ever After” and will have a fairytale theme.
