Description
Rhythmix Cultural Works (RCW) will be celebrating its 7th Anniversary this summer by bringing exceptional entertainment to the island of Alameda with a new signature event: Wine, Women and Song. All proceeds will be used to support youth art programming in Alameda and its surrounding Bay Area communities. Attendees will enjoy a range of musical and delectable offerings including blues, jazz, world music, belly dancing, storytelling, costumes, revelry, and a silent auction with highly prized donations.

All proceeds will benefit art programming for underserved youth at Rhythmix Cultural Works through the continuation of RCW's Performance Art and Learning Program (PAL) that serves over 1000 schoolchildren each year in the Alameda Unified School District. PAL is a curriculum-based youth arts education program intended to foster awareness about world cultures and empower underserved youth through exposure to multicultural art forms including music and dance performances by professional artists. In addition to serving public schoolchildren, RCW offers free workshops to underserved youth at the Alameda Boys and Girls Club and Girls Inc. of the Island City where more than 43% of participants are from families with incomes below the federal poverty level.
