I work at an alternative community high school that helps students to acquire their diploma after they have left the traditional high school system. My goal is to not only help students receive their credits toward graduation but to give them access to varying real-world experiences and opportunities. My students are smart, inquisitive and energetic. Many of my students do not live in traditional households, which can be difficult. Although my students have grown up in these situations, their adversities do not define them. They will thrive despite their circumstances.

The culinary elective class will be cooking a pancake breakfast as the Leadership elective team set up and decorate tables for the rest of the school. This event is a celebration before students leave for winter break. We are asking for entertainment, activities and gifts for our students.
