Description

The Rio Vista Elementary PTA is excited to be organizing its Winter Fundraiser to support our school, and we were hoping for your support this year. We are a public school in the Los Angeles Unified School District that provides instruction for transitional kindergarten through 5th grade for the North Hollywood, Studio City, and Toluca Lake communities. Our Online and Silent Auctions are a major event that helps fund Rio Vista’s many programs and will take place December 2tnd-10th, 2024. We are asking for your support.

Where Does the Money Raised Go? Many vital programs, such as music and the arts, are only available to the students because of the funds raised through the PTA. The Online and Silent Auction is one of our largest fundraisers and all monies raised from this event will go directly to fund programs at Rio Vista such as:

  • Weekly Music Instruction for all grades
    - Band Program for 4th and 5th graders and Choir Program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
    - Field Trip Transportation for all grades
    - Garden Ranger Instructional Program and Hidden Garden Maintenance
    - Literacy Programs, Community Events, and School-wide Assemblies
    - Special enrichment activities for 5th graders
  • Exposure to music and the arts encourages cognitive development, increases academic performance, promotes creativity, sharpens motor skills, and influences higher reading and math scores. The U.S. Department of Justice Youth ARTS development project even found a direct correlation between education in the arts and behavior. Our Hidden Garden gives the children hands-on gardening experience and teaches them about our ecosystem as well as the importance of good nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Our children take field trips to the LA Zoo, local art museums, and many other locations that expand their educational experience beyond the four walls of the classroom.

How can you help? You can help by donating gift cards, items, or anything really. This is a great way to advertise your business to a desired target audience while supporting a worthy cause. We are a 501 tax-exempt charity so any donation you make is 100% tax deductible. I have attached a copy of our donation acknowledgment form with our tax id number. Thank you so much for your consideration.

We are asking for all donations by November 20.  Your donation will be included in our online auction, which will be visible to over 500,000 subscribers.  Thank you in advance for your support of this important event.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
