Young Life San Antonio "Celebrating Together" Banquet
Gala/Party for Young LifeOct 21, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
I am reaching out for consideration providing a silent auction item for our annual Young Life fundraising banquet, which will be held on October 21st at Magnolia Halle from 6:30 to 8 p.m. We expect to host between 150-200 guests at this event, where we share our mission and build deeper connections within our community. Any donation, such as an autographed item, gift certificate or product, would be deeply appreciated. Your contribution would not only help us raise critical funds, but it would also be prominently highlighted as an example of generosity and partnership with Young Life.
Our area supports five ministries: Clark High School, Hobby Middle School, Rawlinson Middle School, UTSA, and Capernaum (our ministry for friends with disabilities). Across these ministries, we know more than 900 kids by name from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. Every day, we strive to provide these kids with a space where they are loved, supported, and connected.
Young Life is a global, faith-based, non-profit organization that focuses on reaching adolescents through mentoring and outreach programs. Founded in 1941, Young Life’s mission is to introduce young people to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. The organization builds relationships with middle school, high school, and college-aged students by engaging them in weekly social events, small groups, and adventure-filled camps.
Young Life operates in schools and communities, providing a safe, inclusive space where youth from diverse backgrounds can feel a sense of belonging. Leaders in Young Life build friendships with these kids, often acting as mentors who offer support, guidance, and spiritual development. One of Young Life's distinguishing features is its approach to outreach—it meets kids where they are, whether in their schools, neighborhoods, or hangout spots, and fosters long-term, meaningful relationships.
In light of the Surgeon General's recent advisory on the epidemic of loneliness and isolation, our mission has never been more relevant. High rates of mental health challenges, especially among youth, have been exacerbated by the pandemic. At Young Life, we focus on creating spaces of belonging where adolescents can connect, build life-long friendships, and experience the love of Christ. Through weekly social events, small groups, and adventure-filled camp experiences, we seek to mentor kids and introduce them to faith and community.
We hope you consider a donation!
