What is Youth of the Year?
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County Youth of the Year program is a distinguished initiative that recognizes and
celebrates outstanding teenagers who embody leadership qualities in various areas. The program, a tradition for 75 years,
is one of the most significant youth development programs BGCGTC offers. Through the Youth of the Year program, BGCGTC
empowers young people to develop and hone critical skills, such as public speaking, self-confidence, and leadership. The
program creates a path for young people to build positive relationships, achieve academic success, and make a
meaningful difference in their communities. One exceptional teen from each area of our organization is chosen as a finalist
for the Youth of the Year award. These teens are handpicked for their exemplary qualities of leadership, perseverance,
determination, and drive. The finalists are recognized for their leadership potential, academic achievements, and
commitment to service in their Club, community, and home. During the program's competition phase, each finalist shares
their personal story with a panel of judges representing DFW's leaders in the industry. The judges evaluate the contestants
on their public speaking skills, personal accomplishments, and future goals and then select the young person who will
represent BGCGTC in the state competition. As the Youth of the Year finalists, they represent the best of the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Greater Tarrant County they inspire other young people to strive for excellence and work hard to achieve their
dreams. The Youth of the Year program is a testament to the transformative power of Boys & Girls Clubs of America
programs, which exposes young people to new opportunities and provides them with the tools and resources they need to
succeed in life.

What is the Youth of the Year Gala?
The Youth of the Year Gala is a vital event that brings together the community to recognize and celebrate the exceptional
young people making a difference in the world. The business community's support is crucial to ensure that these young
people continue to receive the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
This year's event is scheduled for Friday, June 7th, at the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel. It will honor our 2024 Youth of the
Year and runners-up for their remarkable leadership qualities and dedication to serving their community. They will share
their stories and inspire the audience with their vision for the future. In addition to celebrating the Youth of the Year winner,
the Gala is a platform for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County to share its accomplishments of the past year,
highlight important topics affecting our young people, and express its vision of the future.
