Description

In celebration of our 20 years of service, we will be hosting our nearest and

dearest supporters, regaling them with a night of fun, food, drink and a full

showcase of Youth Talent. This entertaining portion of our event is powered

by Youth who have had an opportunity to audition to be selected to perform

at this 20-year celebration for prizes. We know firsthand that Youth have

faced so much uncertainty is today's world - affecting their mental health

and well-being. This night is to acknowledge the struggles, and celebrate

the wins that these youth have accomplished as they build out their positive

futures. Attendance and gender ratio is projected.

We are writing to you today from YouthSpeak Performance Charity, an Ontario-based organization that empowers youth by providing youth-led assemblies and workshops for schools throughout southern Ontario. Our mission is to create important conversations promoting well-being, resilience, compassion, and hope, by empowering youth to share personal stories and coping strategies through in-person and online presentations. On October 19th, 2023, we will be celebrating 20 years of being in service to youth in our community. We would be grateful if you considered our request for a donation for our 20-Year Celebration & Talent Show, a fundraising gala designed to expand our reach and improve our social impact.

Between COVID-19 and recent increases in incidents of racism, homophobia and xenophobia, the mental health of youth in our communities has been severely impacted. We intend to bolster our team of Youth Facilitators to reach more youth and provide them with key messages of hope, resilience, and empathy. Through the personal stories and information shared within the presentations, youth who are provided with a list of resources, and those who are struggling feel safer coming forward to ask for help. With your support, we will be able to offer advanced training for our team members and book more engagements, thereby allowing us to provide our services to under-served communities. Given your charitable focus on improving the lives of people in our community, we believe YouthSpeak is an ideal organization to support. The importance of managing mental health concerns can be addressed through the power of education. YouthSpeak values the kind support of its donors and will acknowledge your support through our media channels.
