ACC is a nationally reconized college serving Central Texas as the primary gateway to higher education and technical training opportunities. Our mission is to provide open-door access to an affordable college education for students who want to earn a degree, learn a marketable skill, or advance their careers.
ACC is the number 1 transfer college in Texas, helping more of our students finish their bachelor's degrees on time than any other Texas college. Credits earned at ACC transfer seamlessly to the state's four-year college and universities and can save students 70% or more on in-state tuition.
ACC is one of nine institutions nationwide to earn recertification for the National Seal of Excelencia in Education for its ongoing work to support and serve Latino students. The Latinx/Hispanic student population is the fastest-growing demographic at ACC, making up almost 40% of the total student body.
The annual Austin American-Statesman's 2022 Best of the Best Awards, awarded ACC the distinction of the "The Best College/University" - ahead of Texas A&M University and the University of Texas-Austin. ACC was previously recognized for the "Best of the Best" award every year since 2018. The college's Nursing Program received the top accolade in 2018, 2019, and 2020, and the District as a whole was a top finalist in 2021. This is a testament to our dedicated faculty and staff.
