The A Team NV, established in 2015 as a volunteer organization, aimed to support families with a child facing developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. In 2021, it joined forces with The Arc of the United States and rebranded as The Arc of Nevada while retaining the original name The A Team NV.
The mission of The Arc of Nevada is to promote and protect the human rights of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and support their complete integration into society. The organization strives to improve access and equality for this community, envisioning a more inclusive world for everyone.
To further its support for individuals with disabilities, The Arc of Nevada introduced new initiatives last year, such as early intervention and Pal Around with The Arc.
Early Intervention (EI) services cater to families with children aged from birth to 3 years who exhibit a qualifying developmental delay or disability. These services are personalized according to each child's needs and are provided by community providers at no charge. Typical services include speech/feeding therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral therapy.
Pal Around with The Arc offers social opportunities for individuals with disabilities to connect, make friends, and engage in community activities. Participants are encouraged to join events like Monday Morning Coffee at a local café and Cookies and Conversation at Betty's Village, along with other tailored activities such as Pi Day and Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
