A Turning Point's mission is to support families by providing basic needs and education equipping them for self-sufficiency. Our organization is about filling gaps in the community's public services. To this end, all our programs are unique in some capacity. Our Academy is where motivated adults can earn their high school diploma rather than their GED/HiSET; this program is the only one in the region.
Our Guesthouse is the only day center for the houseless community in the Northland of KC, MO. This program provides the houseless with access to hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, computer/internet and case management services with our social worker. Community Meals is our street outreach program going into the community to provide our houseless friends with essentials.
Our Food Panry & Wardrobe are both unique in the method of service, frequency of service, and who is served. Providing access to such basic needs is so critical in an individual/famiily being able to move forward towards full self-sustainability. Serving over 45,000 people annually our services only continue to grow.
