PROGRAM
ABC Learning Center strives to make the adjustment from home to school a pleasant and positive one by offering a variety of activities which are geared to the ages, interests and abilities of the children. These activities are designed to promote social/emotional (self-awareness), sharing, manners, self-discipline and respect for others and others' property, physical (playing alone and with partners), creative play (through the use of learning centers, arts and crafts) and mental (letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.) development of each child.
ENROLLMENT
Enrollment will be on a first come, first served basis. The number of children in each class shall be limited and will not exceed state regulations.
Age groupings are generally based on the child's age as of September 1st of each year. Groupings are flexible, and a child may be moved from one group to another to meet individual needs.
Children registering after classes are filled will have their names placed on a waiting list and will be contacted as vacancies occur.
STRUCTURE
ABC Learning Center is governed by the Rockport Christian Services Association, Inc. a non-profit corporation organized in 1976 for the purpose of providing educational programs for preschool children within a Christian environment in preparation for public/private school.
GOALS and OBJECTIVES
The goal of ABC Learning Center is to provide a preschool learning environment in which each child may develop a positive self-concept and experience the excitement of discovering themselves and the world around them.
Objectives:
→To develop children's self awareness and sense of self-worth.
→To help children adjust socially to their peer group.
→To help Children discover and learn those elements necessary for a successful school experience.
→To help children develop both gross and fine motor skills.
→To help children develop visual and auditory skills.
→To help build children's vocabulary.
