Abington Educational Foundation(AEF) is a non profit for the Abington School District and provides funding to enhance educational opportunities for approximately 8,000 students and their families. AEF is committed to ensuring Abington School District students receive the educational opportunities that charitable investment can provide. Philanthropic giving to education continues to increase each year and AEF aims to harness this generosity to help Abington and Rockledge students continue to excel as society demands highly educated and technologically skilled workers.
AEF provides funding annually for Learning Grants that teachers apply for to enhance technology and educational programs in their classrooms, schools, and for afterschool initiatives. Learning Grants fund programs such as robotics clubs, garden clubs, afterschool STEAM initiatives, language programs, arts initiatives, and specialized technology in the classroom. AEF funds the Silver Pen Award, which recognizes fifth-grade students submitting winning essays in a district-wide competition. We proudly support the Senior High Buddies Club, which fosters meaningful relationships between disabled and nondisabled students through monthly afterschool meetings. AEF honors and provides gift cards to approximately 24 Middle School students who exemplify the traits of leadership and integrity while overcoming challenges.
AEF relies on support from many sources, including businesses, to provide the financial flexibility needed to ensure that all nine of Abington’s public schools continue to thrive.
