The mission of the Alameda Boys & Girls Club (ABGC) is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. Founded in 1949, ABGC has been providing high-impact, affordable youth development programs and services for youth ages 6-18. Approximately 65% of youth we serve are living in poverty, over 40% come from single-parent households and over 75% identify as youth of color. ABGC is open to all youth from all schools and backgrounds, every day and evening after school and during school vacations. We specifically target low-income and at-risk youth to provide them with equality of opportunity and prepare them for a great future.

Daily programming at the ABGC focuses on Education & Career Development; Vocational Skill Building; Character & Leadership; Health & Life Skills; STEM & Technology; Fine & Performing Arts; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. We also provide mental health services for our youth in need. Participation in these programs and services improve the lives of our members as it teaches them the skills they need to achieve academic and professional success and also how to become confident, healthy and contributing members of society. Since 1949, we have changed the lives of over 100,000 children and each year we served over 4,000 Alameda youth and teens. We turn no child or family away due to lack of funds.
