Located in northeast Queens, NYC, in the wetland section of Alley Pond Park, Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) is open to all who want to learn about the wonders of nature and ways to sustain our planet.  APEC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that is open year-round. Admission and parking to our brand-new. LEED certified building is free.  Our live ambassador animals (turtles, rabbits, doves, snakes, etc.) love to have people come to visit them. Our nature trails are open dawn to dusk. 

Educational programs are offered for all ages from 18 months to seniors. From our Toddler Time for 18 month olds and their parents to our variety of adult programs there is a diverse selection of programs to choose from. In addition, daily school classes visit the Center for fun while also educational programs. In 2022-2023, over 42,000 school children, pre-schoolers, teens and adults enjoyed programs at APEC.
