Alliance for Smiles' mission is to forever improve and transform the lives of children and communities impacted by cleft lip and palate by providing free comprehensive treatment, while training and equipping local teams to sustainably provide quality, long-term care.
Around the world, children born with cleft are shunned, bullied, and sometimes killed. Furthermore, one in ten children with a cleft lip or palate dies in their infancy in parts of the world where surgery is inaccessible or unaffordable. However, in just over an hour of surgery, their lives, access to opportunities, and futures can be forever transformed.
We send volunteer medical teams to underserved parts of the world to provide free cleft surgery and orthodontia work to hundreds of children affected by cleft. In addition, we train, equip, and provide virtual support for the local medical teams who serve these children year-round.
With the help of our generous donors and volunteers, we have changed the lives of over 8000 children, and we look forward to changing thousands more.
