ABOUT ALLIED ARTS

The signature effort of Allied Arts is an annual community-wide fundraising drive that supports approximately 40 local arts organizations through grant support and advocacy. Campaign funds are directed to meet the operating, programmatic, education and outreach needs of arts organizations in central Oklahoma, with most grantees providing outreach that impacts all corners of the state. Allied Arts funded programs touch the lives of approximately one million people including the hospitalized, elderly, veterans, at-risk and low-income schoolchildren, and families. With Allied Arts funding, cultural nonprofits offer community programming at no cost or very affordable rates to ensure access to the arts for more people.

The bulk of campaign-funded grantmaking is directed to the 25 Allied Arts member agencies:

The educational outreach and capacity-building grant programs are open to member agencies and other qualified cultural nonprofits. The educational outreach program provides funding for youth arts education projects. The program expands the scope of existing projects while also helping to fund new initiatives with a focus on increasing access to arts education for at-risk, low-income and underserved youth. Services are traditionally provided in classrooms, auditoriums and gyms during school and after-school hours; venues such as the Boys & Girls Club; for art museum and performing arts venue fieldtrips; during public events; at community centers like libraries; and at art facilities during school break classes and camps.

The capacity-building program assists nonprofits in bolstering their organizational capabilities to better serve their constituents and fulfill their missions. The grant program supports efforts such as organizational strategic planning, professional development and technology updates.
