We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those populations often forgotten about by our society. We serve the houseless and food insecure individuals and families in our community by providing access to survival items, food, mental health assistance, harm reduction, mentoring, and a community where they are valued, acknowledged, and supported.
We have a food pantry with pantry items, household items, and toiletries for our friends in need. We also have Stone Soup Kitchen dinner every Monday night. For many of our friends this is the only hot meal they receive each week. We stock a Blessings box outside so that when our pantry is not open, everyone still has access to food on an emergency basis. We have several of our friends who utilize their vehicles as a place to live, we provide Gas Cards so they can be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We also provide Bus Cards to those without a vehicle. These gift cards allow them to get from pantry to pantry and back and forth to work and doctor appointments.
We are working on new things this year, one of them being community gardens so that our friends can have fresh and healthier items to choose from besides just canned and dry pantry items. We help the community in times of need to help them from becoming homeless by helping with rent payments to prevent eviction as well as paying utilities to prevent disconnection. We are hoping to raise more funds to be able to assist as many people as possible during these hard times.
