The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit organization completely dedicated to fighting ALS.
ALS is a disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Eventually, people with ALS lose all their abilities, such as the ability to speak, walk, and even breathe. The average life expectancy of a person diagnosed with ALS is 2-5 years.
Currently there is no cure for ALS. But there is hope. With the help of our donors we are able to invest in promising, groundbreaking ALS research, and provide resources and access to care for hundreds of Texans living with ALS. Thanks to our supporters we're able to improve the quality of life for current patients, and eventually create a world where ALS doesn't exist.
