The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. Nationwide there are over 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million serving as caregivers. In 2020, Alzheimer’s and other dementias cost the nation $305 billion, and by 2050, these costs could rise as high as $1.1 trillion. Community-based Alzheimer's Association chapters , such as the Northern California Northern Nevada Chapter, provide services to families and professionals, including information and referral, support groups, care consultation, education and safety services. The Association holds fundraising events to raise money to support and care for those currently living with the disease, fund critical research and fuel advocacy efforts.
