Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society (ACS). Our local ACS office is located at 444 Ocean Blvd, Long Beach CA 90802
Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in thousands of communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer.
I lost both parents to cancer and I am a two time breast cancer survivor J ACS was there to help when we needed it, and this is our give-back and fight back! My family and I have been in leadership roles with Relay for over 12 years. Relay is a 24 hour event – a team relay walk – walking 24 hours to represent that cancer doesn’t sleep and neither do we as we walk. The event has ceremonies to celebrate survivors and caregivers, remember those who have lost the battle to cancer and commitments to fights back against the disease.
