The American Cancer Society is a leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. We are improving the lives of people with cancer and their families as the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, research, and patient support, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

In the city of La Mirada CA, there will be a 12 hour event at a Splash Aquatic center, where there will be volunteers and residents of La Mirada, Whittier and the surrounding cities nearby, all attending the event that is called American Cancer Society Relay for Life. This community event will be held September 30, 2023 where we will fundraising all day long, advocating preventive health material bringing cancer awareness to the community.

Relay For Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where you can celebrate cancer survivors and remember those no longer here. The American Cancer Society is the only organization that integrates advocacy, research, and patient support to measurably improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.

In 2022, more than 34,000 individuals received more than 305,000 free rides through our transportation grants. In 2022, more than 19,400 patients and caregivers received 329,000 nights of free lodging at one of 31 Hope Lodge facilities.
